"A couple of weeks ago I was at the LWS attending a Gallery held by John Cappello. Having attended one before, I remembered that he enjoyed doing Psychometry, which involves holding an object and reading the energy of the object.
"I had brought an antique magnifying glass on a pocket chain for him to "read". The item was one that I had inherited from my mother, but which had originally belonged to my stepfather's father, a Sea Captain who circumnavigated the world numerous times in a wooden sailing ship. I knew little about the man, as he was quite old when my mom married his son, and he also resided in Italy, while we lived in the USA.
"Among the other things I had acquired from this gentleman was a photograph album comprised of the ship's travels with some photos taken in the late 1800's. I had also brought this with me, but did not show it to John at that time.
"What transpired was an amazing reading regarding this man's life, his emotions, and the ship he spent so much of his life as the captain of.
"Without any foreknowledge, John stated that this piece had belonged to a man, who spent much of his life at sea, and as the reading went on, he described the terrible odor of a wooden ship, the fear of disease, and much of the superstitious nature of seafaring men of that time.
"After he finished the reading, I pulled out the album and showed him the pictures. It was astonishing to hear the details of that man's life, and even more amazing that this man's energy could be stored in a piece of men's jewelry decades after he has passed on! Some of the details (his fear of germs, for example) explained why he always carried his own utensils with him and refused to use those belonging to anyone else."
